Definition of e-commerce

Ecommerce is a process which involves buying and selling products, services online in monetary transactions on the internet and it is also known as electronic commerce or internet commerce (Shopify, 2023). The first ever sales on internet in ecommerce history was back in 1994, a man sold his CD to other customer through the NetMarket website (Shopify, 2023). Business to Consumer (B2C), Business to Business (B2B), Consumer to Consumer (C2C), and Consumer to Business (C2B) are the four major types of ecommerce models. Amazon, Ebay, Alibaba are some of the top ecommerce websites all across the world. 

In Business to consumer (B2C) ecommerce business model consumers and business are involved in the buying and selling of goods and service online and it is also known as retail ecommerce (Natarajan, 2023). Business to Business (B2B) is the ecommerce business module where transactions between two business takes place online in the internet involving each parties as whole seller, retailer, and manufacturer (Chen, 2022). In consumer to consumer (C2C) business model one consumer sells the gods to another consumer and the commerce takes between two consumers (Rivera, 2022). Finally, Consumer to Business (C2B) ecommerce is a business model where consumer provides products and services to the organization and Google Adsense is one of the example of such model which priorities their consumer feedbacks (Sanfilippo, 2022).
