Documentation of progress in website development with wix.com

Wix is a cloud based software company that provides web development services which helps rookie developers to build professional looking websites with ease (Hoots, 2020). This post will present the whole documentation of the e-commerce website creation from scratch to deployment using Wix editor. Step by step process of website development are illustrated below:

Account Register/ Login:

In these screenshot above it shows wix home page from where we will click "Get Started" and it will redirect us to the Signup and login page as shown below.

In this page new users can get their new account registered and existing user can login to their existing wix account.

New website setup walk through:

If it is the first time creating wix account then it will directly redirect the user to this page above where they can get start to setup website by stating type of website that user is going to build.

After stating the type of users' preferred website it will navigate the user to this page shown above, where they can set the website name.

Furthermore, after setting your website name the next step is to select the wix utility applications in order to pre install it before designing the website.

After selecting the preferred apps from the grid list, it navigates the user to this page shown above where there are two options for editing the website, ready made template and custom template editing option.

In our case we have selected the custom template option which redirects to this next page presented above. Now, we have done almost majority of the setup task for our website, here it shows the information provided for the users' site for final review.

If everything is fine and good in final review it redirects the user to the next page which is shown above where it provides the options of multiple themes to choose for the website.

After picking the right theme for the website it will take the user to the next page which is home page design selection page where user can choose between multiple home page design and layouts.

Finally, after picking the right home page design the final stage in new website walk through concludes here as it is presented below in the screenshot where user have the options to choose between the pre build pages designs to add in the website.

Website design phase:

As shown in the image above the website designing phase starts with this page where the wix editor opens with the preview of the website debugged view.

In the wix editor page the image shown above is the elements tool section where the user can access different sorts of elements such as typography, font style, components and so on.

The image shown above is the section tooling of the editor through which the user can add different sorts of sections on the website.

The image above presents the site settings where the user can configure the whole site settings and customizations such as font style, font size, color scheme and so on.

The section shown in the above image shows the app marketplace of wix where developers and designers can add external apps and features such as payment gateway, ecommerce, and so on into the website.

The image above presents the media section of wix editor where all the media related components and files are managed.

Deployment phase:

Finally, in the deployment phase the final edited website is published to go live on wix server.

Furthermore, designers can edit the mobile view of the website from this pop up dialog option.

Final result:

Finally, the image above shows the final published version of website developed on wix in the web browser. However, this is the first milestone which was to setup the wix website from the scratch using wix editor tools.
