What is Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD)?

Image
What is ERD? An Entity-Relationship Diagram (ERD) is a graphical representation of a database that depicts the relationship between entities and the attributes of those entities (Elmasri & Navathe, 2016). Entities are objects or concepts that exist in the real world and are represented in the database, such as a customer or a product. Relationships are the connections between entities, such as a customer purchasing a product (Pratt & Adamski, 2018). Cardinalities are used to indicate the number of times an entity can be related to another entity, such as one-to-one or one-to-many (Halpin & Morgan, 2010). Attributes are characteristics that describe an entity, such as the name or age of a customer (Teorey, Lightstone, & Nadeau, 2011). ERDs are commonly used in database design to help visualize the structure of the database and ensure that all necessary information is included. They can also be used to identify potential issues or errors in the design (Elmasri & Navat

Deep dive into Alt tags & Title tags in HTML

Image
Alt and title tags are HTML attributes that provide information about images and other multimedia elements on a web page (W3Schools, 2021). Alt tags, also known as "alt descriptions," provide a text description of an image for users who are unable to view the image, while title tags provide additional information about the content of a page and are displayed as a tooltip when a user hovers over a link (Moz, 2021). These tags are important for SEO (search engine optimization) because they provide additional information about the content of a page to search engines, helping to improve the visibility and ranking of the page in search results (Moz, 2021). By including relevant keywords in the alt and title tags, ecommerce sites can improve their SEO and increase the chances of their pages appearing at the top of search results for relevant searches (Moz, 2021).
